STEM in UVG‘s Education Congress
The University del Valle held the 4th Conference for Education providing opportunities for teachers to reflect on their roll as agents of social progression and change. Current educational topics were covered in panel discussions and workshops. These activities were geared toward private and public sector educators and aimed to strengthen teach-learn-evaluate (TLE) process.
Seven hundred teachers attended the workshop of which 250 participated in STEAM-conferences. CEEA’s participation was key to conference success who is recognized at UVG for their international experience in STEM and STEAM
STEM-UVG professor training workshops June 15-19th
University del valle (UVG) experts in STEM science led training-workshops aimed at developing STEM science active learning activities at UVG. The four pillars of STEM-science were covered in four half-days: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Engineering Design Processes (EDP), Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) and Computational Thinking (CT). On the fifth day, professors were given the opportunity to incorporate the four pillars of STEM-science into their second semester classroom planning.
UVG-STEM central campus leaders visit Highlands Campus and hold a STEM-workshop
On June 12th, STEM leaders from the UVG central campus visited the Highlands Campus. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce strategies for using ASHA equipment in STEM courses and to carry out collaborative cross-cutting projects between campuses. A UVG central-campus expert led an Inquiry Based Learning workshop (IBL, one of the STEM strategies) where faculty members from Campus Sur and the Highlands campus participated.
